Trees for Troops

During this busy holiday season, it’s important that we all take some time to give back, especially to those who dedicate their lives to serving us and protecting our freedom.

Here at SureID, we take this sentiment to heart, and this year we’re proud to announce our participation in the Trees for Troops program. Our RAPIDGate Program and our SureID Veterans Employee Resource Group donated 50 trees and 50 teddy bears to military families across the country.

About Trees for Troops

Just as its name suggests, the Trees for Troops program provides free, farm-grown Christmas trees to members of the United States Armed Services in all branches of the military and their families. It’s a program of the Christmas SPIRIT Foundation, the charitable branch of the National Christmas Tree association that has provided free trees for military families for many years.

Since 2005, Trees for Troops has given more than 176,000 Christmas Trees to military families at more than 65 bases here at home and overseas. Last year, the program delivered 18,833 trees donated by more than 450 Christmas tree growers, retailers and their customers in 25 states.

It’s through efforts like this that we’re able to repay, in some small measure, all of the important work our service men and women and their families do for us every day.

Bringing the Christmas Cheer

The Trees for Troops campaign is currently underway and thousands of military families are receiving a little extra holiday cheer thanks to all of the generous volunteers and donors who help make this effort possible.

While we may not know where our 50 trees and 50 teddy bears are headed, we do know that they are en-route to making the holidays a little more special for some very deserving families.

Get Involved

Even though this year’s campaign is already underway, it’s never too late to get involved. You can still make donations to the Christmas SPIRIT Foundation, buy a Trees for Troops teddy bear, or even start thinking of ways you can volunteer with this worthy cause next year.
